Intellectual Property and R&D Grants

Intellectual property “IP” is any form of original creation from inventions, music/literary works, machinery, new technology and industrial related designs. It generally covers four areas to include patents, trade marks, designs and copyright.

The use and exploitation of IP is of growing importance in the global economy. Indeed the Irish Government have recognised this in a recent strategy paper published in December 2008 called Building Ireland’s Smart Economy, a Framework for sustainable Economic Renewal.
